About BASSIC Ft. Yvng Jalapeno & Heimanu
Friday 19th July, YVNG Bassic’s returns for another round and we’re excited to welcome back Brisbane Trap powerhouse alongside Sydney’s up and comer Heimau.
Yvng Jalapeno has been a bedroom beat-maker since his early teens when he first developed an interest in electronic music. With a wide range of musical influences, from Bob Marley to Baauer and RL Grime, Jordan is producing energetic beats with that have garnered him attention from huge names in the scene. In 2018 he won a competition via ‘Triple J Unearthed’ for his track ‘ODI’ (which was signed to ‘Dim Mak Records’) that secured him a set to open for ‘What So Not’ during the Brisbane leg of his 2018 national tour. No stranger to the live scene, Yvng Jalapeno has played sets at Splendour in the Grass and Listen Out, headlined his own national tour in late 2016 and played huge support sets for Marshmello, Getter, Hermitude, JOYRYDE & Peking Duk. With loads of new music in the works, Mr. Jalapeno is bringing heat and flavour to the spicy burrito that is the Australian music scene
Meanwhile, Heimanu has been busy perfecting his own sound, as well as collaborating with other producers he’s met along the way. Now putting the spotlight on his own music, Heimanu has been able to stand out from the sea of young artists in Sydney by focusing on not being confined by genre, and creating music that he loves. With a sound that’s poised somewhere in the valley between What So Not and Carmada, you can feel the chaotic nature of an ocean storm influencing his production style. He’s been busy making some noise, notably having his remix of “UCLA” being featured on RL Grime’s “Nova Remixes” as well as his recent track with Axen!
